Zack

 Zack Heidorn is absolutely delighted to be joining Carousel Music Theatre this summer. Zack has lived in Connecticut all of his life, and is a recent graduate of Central Connecticut State University, where he earned his BFA in Acting. Zack has been performing most of his life, and he has trained and performed extensively in Connecticut and New York. He has earned several nominations for his performances in CT, including a Connecticut Critic’s Circle Nomination for “Best Debut Actor” and a Broadway World CT nomination for “Best Actor in a Musical.” Some of his favorite roles include: Mark Cohen in Rent, Joe Hardy in Damn Yankees, Melchior in Spring Awakening, and Garry Essendine in Present Laughter. He would like to thank Carousel Music Theatre for this wonderful opportunity, and also his friends and family for their unconditional love and support. Special thank you to Mom, Dad, Aubrey, Grandma, Grandpa, Bill, Sara, and Jen.

 



Amber

Amber Dewey is thrilled to be a part of Carousel Music Theater this summer!  Amber is a native of Amarillo, Texas and a 2012 graduate of Dartmouth College with a Bachelor of Arts in German. She is a voice student of Louis Burkot. Amber was a member of the 2013 vocal company at the College Light Opera Company, where her roles included Ilona Ritter (She Loves Me), Billie Smith (Babes in Arms), Adele (Die Fledermaus), and Nanette (No, No Nanette). Other recent engagements include the Cousin (Madama Butterfly) with Amore Opera Company in lower Manhattan, Cunegonde (Candide) as a guest artist with the Dartmouth College Glee Club, and Pink Sheep 1 in Amarillo Opera’s Candide, where she also covered the role of Cunegonde. In November, 2013, Amber returned as a guest artist with the Dartmouth Glee Club to sing the soprano solos in Joseph Haydn’s Lord Nelson Mass in D Minor.  During the summer of 2012, she was a member of the acting company at the New London Barn Playhouse, where her roles included Crissy (Hair), Enid Hoopes (Legally Blonde), and Kate (Oklahoma!). While at Dartmouth, Amber's roles included Audrey (Little Shop of Horrors), Ruth (The Pirates of Penzance) Marcy Park (25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee), Roberta (Zanna, Don’t!), and Tracy Turnblad (Hairspray).  In the summer of 2010, Amber was a choral artist at Opera North.  She performed scenes from L'elisir d'amore (Adina) andStreet Scene (Mrs. Fiorentino), and she sang in the chorus of La Bohème.  In the fall of 2010, Amber worked in entertainment at Walt Disney World as part of the Disney College Program.  In the spring and summer 2011, she was an exchange student in Tubingen, Germany.  Once she had finished her academic semester, Amber participated in a week-long musical theater intensive (conducted entirely in German) at the Stage School Hamburg.

Maria

Maria Norris couldn't be more excited to be spending the summer season at Carousel Music Theater! Originally from Massachusetts, Maria is a 2012 graduate of the CAP21 Musical Theatre program through New York University. Favorite past roles include Motormouth Maybelle )Hairspray, Diva (Starmites), Asaka (Once on this Island) and Mrs. Potts (Beauty and the Beast). Special thanks to Robb for this opportunity and of course her family and friends for their endless support and encouragement.

Emily

Emily Nelkin is beyond excited to be joining the Carousel Music Theater cast for the 2014 season and enjoy some time in beautiful Boothbay Harbor! Originally from Long Island, New York, she spent her summers at French Woods Festival of the Performing Arts and recently graduated with her BFA in Musical Theatre from the University at Buffalo. Favorite credits of hers include Grease (Jan), Seussical (Gertrude McFuzz), How to Succeed…(Smitty) and Al Takes a Bride (Al). Besides performing, Emily prides herself on being Hello Kitty’s biggest fan, and tries to own every piece of memorabilia possible. Emily wants to thank all her friends and family for being so supportive of her and everything she does.

Ricky

Ricky Marchese couldn’t be happier to be joining Carousel Music Theater for the summer! Originally from Rochester, NY he recently graduated with his BFA in Musical Theatre from the University at Buffalo. Ricky has always been a natural performer, whether on the stage, teaching young children, or being with friends and family. Some of his favorite theater credits include: Jimmy (Thoroughly Modern Millie), Mr. Lindquist (A Little Night Music), Pippin (Pippin), and Rooster (Annie). Aside from theater, Ricky has a big passion for working with and teaching children. He’s been involved with children’s theater camps the last 3 summers, and this year was a substitute preschool teacher at a local daycare center. He is also a black belt in karate, and a die hard Buffalo Bills fan! He would like to give a huge thanks to his greatly supportive friends and family, especially his Mom and Dad, for always being his number one fans. Love you guys!
